Woven Hand – Long Horn (2012)

I’ve been missing the gritty, dark and twisted harmony which David Eugene Edwards can shape with his music ever since Sixteen Horsepower disbanded. I’m not sure why, but I haven’t followed Woven Hand until now – this band started as a small side project for Edwards, and has since grown into a true force to be reckoned with, especially with their 2012 album, The Laughing Stalk. This is the first track of the album, and what an opener – that forlorn guitar tone, that ominous bass line, that urgent rhythm and oddly detached vocals… it’s a track which makes itself hard to forget. Enjoy!
