Patricia Barber – Nardis (1994)

Patricia Barber may well be my favorite jazz performer, I simply can’t think of a single album of hers I’ve heard which I don’t simply love, and she’s been absent on this blog for too long. This year, her new album is out, and I can hardly wait to meet some of her new musical ideas, but until then, I present you with one of the most dynamic, generous tracks from her discography – Nardis, from her stupendous 1994 album, Cafe Blue. Turn it up, people! Use good headphones if you’ve got them. It’s one of the few tracks on which Patricia Barber really shows off her piano prowess to full extent. Enjoy!
