Esbjörn Svensson Trio – Leverkusener Jazztage (live) (2002, 2005)

Hi everyone! I’m sorry if this post ends up a bit strange, at least at first – I’m testing out the Android WordPress app to write it. This, however, isn’t the surprise I was talking about last time – I’m still waiting for that to come together, hopefully it’ll be very soon and completely worth it. Until then, I present you with a wonderful live performance of the Esbjörn Svensson Trio.

I’ve written about E.S.T. before, but they are one of my favorite musicians ever and they’re one of the most mesmerizing live acts, not only in jazz, but in music. This concert is special for one more reason – it is comprised of sets from live shows spaced three years apart, which offer great insight into the evolution of the trio’s musical style and improvisational technique. I won’t go on, I wrote my love letter to E.S.T. a long time ago. I really hope you enjoy this concert… I recommend listening to it with a cup of tea and some dark chocolate & pepper cookies.
